Editorial Standards
Last updated: June 22, 2026
The Almighty Minute publishes a short daily devotional that connects a passage of Scripture to the world we’re living in today. These standards explain who is accountable for that content, how each piece is made, and the commitments we hold ourselves to. They apply to everything we publish — the daily reflection, the study notes, discussion questions, prayers, and email newsletters.
Who is responsible
Content is produced by the The Almighty Minute Editorial Team — the site’s founder and a small group of volunteer reviewers. A human reviewer is accountable for every devotional before it is published. You can reach the team at [email protected] or through our contact page.
How we choose Scripture
Each morning we begin with the day’s news and ask which timeless truths of Scripture speak to it. We look for passages whose plain meaning genuinely connects to the theme — not verses pulled out of context to fit a headline. We aim across the whole of the Bible, Old Testament and New, rather than returning to a small handful of familiar verses. Where a passage has a difficult or contested history of interpretation, we favor readings that are widely held across Christian traditions and avoid using Scripture to score political points.
How each devotional is written and reviewed
We use AI tools to help research and draft the reflection, study notes, discussion questions, and prayer. Drafting is only the first step. Before anything publishes, a member of the editorial team reviews it to confirm that:
- the verse is quoted accurately from the stated translation;
- the reflection is faithful to the passage’s meaning and context;
- historical and language notes are accurate and not overstated;
- the tone is pastoral and inclusive rather than partisan or sensational; and
- nothing in the piece misrepresents the news event it references.
Our use of artificial intelligence
We want to be plain about this: The Almighty Minute is AI-assisted. We use AI to help draft and research our content because it lets a tiny team publish thoughtful study material every single day for free. But AI is a tool, not the author of record. No devotional reaches you without a person reviewing it for accuracy and faithfulness to the text, and the editorial team takes full responsibility for everything we publish. We do not present AI as a spiritual authority, and we encourage every reader to weigh what they read here against Scripture itself.
Bible translations
Devotionals indicate the translation used for the focus passage. We draw on public-domain translations such as the King James Version (KJV), and on other translations within the limits of their publishers’ quotation guidelines, with attribution. Where a copyrighted translation is quoted, we follow that publisher’s permitted-use terms. If you believe a translation has been quoted incorrectly or outside its terms, please let us know and we will correct it promptly.
How we use the news
The “today’s world” context in each devotional is a brief, factual framing of a current theme — not original reporting, and not an endorsement of any party, candidate, or position. We summarize publicly reported events at a high level to set the scene for a spiritual reflection. We avoid graphic detail, speculation, and anything that would instrumentalize tragedy. The point is always the Scripture, with the news as the doorway.
Accuracy & corrections
We work hard to get things right, and we own it when we don’t. If we publish an error — a misquoted verse, a factual mistake, or a reading that misrepresents a passage — we correct it. Read how to report a problem and what we do about it in our Corrections Policy.
Advertising & independence
The Almighty Minute is free and supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over which Scripture we choose or what we write. Ads are clearly distinguishable from our content. For how advertising affects your data and your choices, see our Privacy Policy.
